Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III administered the oath of office to the new labor inspectors on September 5, 2019, at DOLE Labor Governance Learning Center (LGLC), Intramuros, Manila.

He also highlighted the importance of their role in the Department and enjoined them in ensuring strict implementation of the labor laws and standards.

“Itong papasukan ninyo ay isang napakahalagang trabaho sa Department of Labor and Employment kasi kayo ang titingin at maniniguro na ang labor laws and standards are complied by all the business establishments. Kaya bantayan ninyo yung mga opisina na hindi sumusunod sa patakaran,” he said.

The LIs that took oath in LGLC are from DOLE bureaus and regional office in the National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon (Region III), and Calabarzon (Region IV-A). DOLE Davao’s (Region XI) new LIs also took their oath of office before Bello through a video conference at LGLC.

They will report under the direct supervision of the two Technical Services & Support Divisions (TSSDs) of DOLE-NCR: Employment Promotion & Workers Welfare (TSSD-EPWW) and Labor Relations and Labor Standards (TSSD-LRLS).

The new LIs at DOLE-NCR will officially report for duty on September 12, 2019, and are required to undergo a training on that same day to orient them on DOLE programs and services and equip them on their duties and responsibilities.
