Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III leads the ribbon cutting ceremony of the first one-stop shop for foreign nationals seeking Alien Employment Permit at DOLE-National Capital Region in Malate, Manila.

MALATE, Manila—The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) launched the One-Stop Shop for Employment of Foreign Nationals on September 18, 2019, at the DOLE regional office in the National Capital Region (NCR).

DOLE created a one-stop shop to fast-track the issuances of Alien Employment Permit (AEP). It was launched first in NCR due to the increasing number of foreign nationals seeking employment at Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) establishments.

Out of the 177 POGO Service Providers (SPs) inspected by the Department as of June 2019, 171 (or 96.6%) are situated in NCR.

To date, DOLE-NCR registered 40,966 issued AEPs during the 1st Semester of 2019—by far the highest record.

Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III led the ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from DOLE bureaus, DOLE-NCR officials, and partner government agencies: Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Finance (DOF), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The One-Stop Shop will include counters for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the issuance of Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN) and Special Temporary Permit (STP), respectively.

Establishments in the National Capital Region with AEP-related requests are to transact directly at DOLE-NCR regional office at 967 Maligaya Street, Malate, Manila. To learn more about the AEP, please visit the Bureau of Local Employment website (click here). END / Hershey Aquino
